Your Tactical Execution website & blog package has already been fitted with two SEO (search engine optimization) plugins, making your job to optimize the site much easier. First, login (yoursite.com/wp-admin) to your Dashboard and click [Settings] and then [All-in-One SEO Pack]. In there, you’ll find all the top-level meta tags including your site name and description.

These settings are more important than you may realize. When your website comes up in a Google search, the two-line description in the search engine results page (SERP) comes directly from your website description. That means you can include your company name and perhaps even your phone number right in your description, allowing Google searchers to get the information they need before they even click through to your website.

This packaged website & blog platform also has the SEO Title Tag plugin, allowing you to enter a custom description for each individual page and post on your site. That is also extremely valuable real estate and you want to ensure you leverage to your advantage. But it doesn’t make sense working with your Title Tags until the majority of the site has been built.

Once you have the basic infrastructure of your website in place, click [Manage] and then [Title Tags] to enter the mass-edit screen. Here, you can enter your keyword-rich title tags one right after the other, all in one place. Be sure to enter your primary keywords as often as possible and also make sure the title tags are consistent with the content on the actual page. Yes, Google DOES look for that. So make sure everything’s consistent.

If you entered the mass-edit screen right now, you would see that every single page on this website has a title tag already in place, describing what’s on the page. This is extremely important stuff so don’t forget to take advantage of it.

The title you put on each page also play a major role with the search engines. And on this website & blog platform, the title of each page is also integrated into the permalink for that page or post, magnifying the effect even more. Make sure you use your primary keywords in the titles of your pages.

Images are another largely untapped opportunity. Each image has the actual name of the graphic file, an [alt] tag and, if there’s a link on the image, a [title] tag for the link. Those are all convenient placeholders for more keywords. Give your images keyword-rich names and put your keywords into the [alt] tag as well.

Here’s another trick. When linking to another page on your website, don’t put the link on “click here”. That doesn’t do anything to help your site’s ranking. Rather, put the link on your primary keywords, even if the link is internal. The words you put your link onto are called “anchor text” and Google looks at the anchor text to help identify the destination page.

The last thing we’ll suggest here pertains to the actual infrastructure of your website. If you’re trying to cater to a particular keyword phrase (like “garbage removal” for example), you should build a page that has that as the title. Or you could even build multiple pages with the phrase you’re targeting along with the municipality you operate in (like “Chicago garbage removal” or “Miami garabage removal” for example). Doing so will dramatically increase the odds that your website will come up with someone searches for that particular phrase.

On my Tactical Execution website, I have a total of 68 individual pages all targeting the phrase “internet marketing services” and each one is accompanied with a municipality, county, region or state. The net result is that my website comes up on the first page for dozens of different phrases that all include the words “internet”, “marketing” and “services”. You can do the same thing.
